Murrelektronik again receives award at the Alliance Industry 4.0 Award Baden-Württemberg

For ten years, Allianz Industrie 4.0 Baden-Württemberg has been supporting the digital transformation of industry—and since last year, it has been putting visionary solutions in the spotlight with the Allianz Industrie 4.0 Baden-Württemberg Award. As at the premiere, Murrelektronik impressed the jury again this year with a unique digital solution.

Dr. Nicole Hoffmeister-Kraut, Baden-Württemberg's Minister for Economic Affairs, Labour and Tourism, honored companies and their innovations for their “high and consistent level of value creation and cross-divisional digitization.”

Murrelektronik is one of the companies in the “Winner” category with its uKonn-X digital installation system.

uKonn-X stands for “you connect anything”: The user scans a machine-readable code on the component using a handheld scanner or cell phone. With the help of the digital circuit diagram and the 2D or 3D model of the machine, the user is visually guided – similar to a navigation system in a car or smartphone – to install the components in the right places.

In addition, status LEDs on the fieldbus modules indicate the correct slot. The system can easily map order-specific installation sequences. Once a step has been successfully completed, uKonn-X automatically documents it.

uKonn-X is thus the first digitally and visually supported system with multidirectional communication between design, development, assembly, commissioning, and maintenance.
